CANCELLATION POLICY: If the program is cancelled by us, for any reason, participants will receive 100% refund. Cancellations by 2/10 will receive a refund, less a $50 cancellation fee. Due to the administrative costs, cancellations after 2/10 will receive credit on another SWIIT offering.

Women who are senior clinicians (with 25 or more years of experience as psychotherapists) are in a unique position to exercise leadership skills in their communities as teachers, activists, researchers, mentors, and innovators, among myriad other roles, in addition to their work as clinicians.

How to develop and amplify the leadership skills so welcome in our field, as well as use these very skills to nurture leadership in colleagues and patients alike is the goal of this training, which will include didactic material, introduction and utilization of the Strength Deployment Inventory, cross-cultural leadership strategies, and practicum.

All curriculum content can be used for oneself, as well as with patients and mentees.

You will learn the following:

  • Utilize the Strength Deployment Inventory for self and others
  • Identify your own leadership style
  • Determine appropriate use of your leadership style
  • Identify and evaluate leadership styles of others
  • Discuss varying leadership styles among the group
  • Identify areas of conflict in one’s own style and that of others
  • Utilize Mindfulness Meditation to reduce anxiety
  • Utilize cross-cultural techniques in leadership
  • Evaluate areas in which to expand leadership roles
  • Demonstrate leadership in proacticum
