Dr. Weedn is the mother of two sons and has been married to Robert Weedn for 42 years. She is a member of a faith community and a longtime spiritual seeker. Her psychology practice in Novato, California is devoted to helping people to embrace their lives fully and live with gentleness, compassion and integrity toward themselves and others. She does this using a variety of methods suited to the particular individual. Though her practice is a general one, she has specialized in addictions and codependency since 1985.

She is a consultant to various legal entities, providing psychological assessment and consultation. Her greatest joy is providing professional training to other therapists and giving retreats of a transformational nature.

Sonnee recently published her first book, Many Blessings: A Tapestry of Accomplished African American Women, and has been interviewed on radio and televison nationally about the book and the 31 women who shared their inspiring stories. See a recent interview on Boston's WCVB TV of Dr. Weedn by Karen Holmes-Ward, whose story appears in the book, HERE.
